MP Welcomes Accountants’ Workshop Kilmarnock accountants’ views sought on HMRC online services 6th November 2007 Des Browne MP has welcomed the news that a free workshop will take place in Kilmarnock on 13 November that will give accountants a chance to have their say on HM Revenue & Customs' (HMRC) plans for its online services. The workshop is one of a series taking place across the UK, to show accountants what online services are available, how to register to use them, and the benefits of dealing with HMRC online. The workshop follows a review of HMRC's online services which recommended that the department should work with its customers to enhance these services and increase usage. The workshop is designed to gather comments and discuss any concerns from agents who will use these services. Des Browne said: "This event aims to ensure HMRC design its services around tax agents' needs. I hope that local accountants will take advantage of the West of Scotland workshop taking place in Kilmarnock. I am sure it will prove to be a mutually beneficial exercise both for the HMRC and the accountants.” The workshop will be held on Tuesday 13 November at the Park Hotel, Rugby Park, Kilmarnock, from 10:00 am - 13:00 pm. Places are free and available on a first come, first served basis. To book a place at this event, or to find out about future workshops in Scotland, please email marketing.online@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk. |
