Fall in Kilmarnock and Loudoun JSA Claimants

Local Labour MP, Des Browne, has welcomed the news that those claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in Kilmarnock and Loudoun has fallen.

Recently released figures last week show that the number of those claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in Kilmarnock and Loudoun has fallen by 17.2 per cent in a year.

Des said:

“As an Ayrshire MP, I am well aware of the challenges that the economy of Ayrshire and in particular Kilmarnock and Loudoun faces in sustaining and increasing employment. Given the systemic difficulties that the area has faced over a long period, the level of improvement over the past decade is nothing short of miraculous. However, none of us are entitled to rest on our laurels, and we will not achieve our objective of full employment, whatever that measure might be against the accepted standards of a few decades ago. This Government is well past the benchmark that was set for any Government by economists.”
